Holly Lodge Phases 1-3

Internal Refurbishment of 22 staircases and common parts areas to Social Housing blocks

CLIENT

London Borough of Camden

CONTRACT VALUE

£1,060,000

Full internal refurbishment within the 1930’s Holly Lodge Estate, which was originally purpose built to house single women and children between the wars.

Work included asbestos removal, flooring, electrics, fire doors, redecorations, door entry systems, fire/smoke alarms, external brickwork and signage.

• Works carried out  to the staircase in an occupied building demanded day to day tenant liaison.

• All operatives as part of the induction to site were instructed to help people up and down the staircase through the work area as required. This included carrying shopping, prams and a caring arm for the elderly as they passed through the work area.

• Tight programme schedules to minimize the time on site and disruption meant working in multiple locations on a continuous programme over all staircases.

• Daily on-site management (non-working) ensured the contract was managed locally every step of the way.

• Weekly project meetings revising cost schedules and programmes ensured the project was delivered on-time, on-budget and before planned programme completion.
